Gas Tank Getaways: Wauwatosa Harbors Area's Newest Water Feature
Tosa Pool is ultra-modern but steeped in history.
If you love water parks but hesitate to burn the gas to get to the Dells and back, visit metro Milwaukee's newest water feature, Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park. Completely rebuilt and opened this spring, state-of-the-art Tosa Pool now offers a towering spiral slide, zero-depth entry for the tykes, play features and fountains, a sand center, ample decks with your choice of shade or sun, and much more. Just getting inside is an experience as you pass through the lovingly refurbished Depression-era, WPA-built bath house.

When: Parent/Tot open swim Monday - Friday 9 - 11 am; weekday open swim Monday - Friday noon - 4:30 pm; evening open swim Mondays and Wednesdays 6 - 8 pm; weekend open swim Saturdays and Sundays 11 am - 5 pm
How much: Children age 2 and under are free. Milwaukee County residents will pay $7 to get in during the day and $4 during the evening hours. Non-resident prices are $9 daytime and $5 evening. Prices for adults and children ages 3-6 are $4 each during the parent/tot swim times.
Special treat: Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park is situated on the beautiful Menomonee River Parkway and the hiking and biking route of the Oak Leaf Trail, which winds throughout Milwaukee County and is connected to regional and state trails as well. You can save all your auto gas and get there with a little sweat equity, then take a cooling plunge (shower first).
