House Hunt: The 5 Most Expensive Tosa Homes for Sale

The top-priced open listed home is a hidden treasure with a pool and its own wilderness, at just under $750,000.

Last week in House Hunt-Wauwatosa, Patch searched out all the multiple listings that could put you in a home here for less than $100,000. There were, at the time, nine single-family homes and condos listed in the AOL Real Estate guide at the lowest end of the price scale.

We promised to next look at the highest-priced multiple-listing homes available in Wauwatosa (exclusive of any private listings, of course).

The plan was to set a similar benchmark, such as "Wauwatosa homes for sale for over $500,000." But there was only one, at 2350 Met to We Lane, although it's up there, at $749,000, with its backyard swimming pool and behind that, the wilds of the Menomonee River.

We reset at "over $400,000," and got only one more, at 8217 Brookside Pl., listed at $475,000 – reduced! – for this half-timbered hideaway with a parklike landscape in the Brookside subdivision.

Setting the mark at $300,000 opened things up enough that we decided to offer the five highest-priced homes in the multiple listings as of today.

Coming next after the two already mentioned is the well-known and admired baby-blue, gingerbready Victorian at 7006 Milwaukee Ave., going for $399,900 on its large and luciously landscaped corner lot.

Rounding out the five are a Washington Highlands home at $397,000 and one in Wellauer Heights, 6912 Grand Parkway, at $334,500.

Here, with their basic information and glowing listing descriptions, are the five highest-priced homes in current open listings. Clicking on the highlighted address will take you to the full AOL Real Estate listing.

Oh, why the heck not? We could all be Randy1949 and the only way you could tell us apart is by our politics. And the size of our comment history. Mine is longer than his.

@Randy1949 – I have suspended the 11th iteration of your infantile imitator. If you care to try to trace his IP, the latest address was 0000044@asdfasdf.com. Most earlier versions also included some variation on the asdfasdf theme.

Jim,
You missed a fantastic Ernest Flagg home that I have listed at 7707 Stickney Avenue, priced at $369,900. It's on the Natl. Historical Society's list and not only has quite the history, but is extremely unique.

A friend of mine used to own the house on Milwaukee Ave. Is it stunning inside--a huge old-style home with great woodwork, a parlor with pocket doors and a grand staircase.
