Ordinary crime becomes extraordinary when the suspect tries to present a logical explanation for the deed. Because that explanation is usually terrible. Witness what a scrap thief in Wauwatosa told her victim; why a Waukesha man said he was trying to break into a semi trailer; and the thin argument behind walking off with $300 worth of steak and Red Bull from a Brookfield grocery.
