Who knows what prompted this woman to actually show up in court in Wauwatosa?

She doesn't seem to bother when it's Menomonee Falls that calls.

At 5:14 p.m. Wednesday, a 37-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested in Municipal Court at Wauwatosa City Hall for outstanding warrants.

The court officer reported her as “a fugitive in attendance” after a Crime Information Bureau check showed she was wanted on seven warrants from the Menomonee Falls Police Department.

The report did not say why she was ordered to appear in Wauwatosa Municipal Court – or why she deigned to do so.

Thursday

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft after he defrauded Curry Park Automotive, 10745 W. Capitol Dr., by presenting a receipt for hauling away used tires for recycling without performing the work. Employees found tires the man had been paid to haul left in the bushes behind the business.

A resident of the 2600 block of North 62^nd Street reported that between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday someone had tried to break into her home. She told police that when she got up in the morning she found that the storm sash on a dining room window had been pushed up and the window frame had been pried outward. The inner window was intact, no other windows had been tampered with, and no entry had been made.

A Columbus, Wis., woman reported that her 2000 Dodge Caravan had been stolen while it had been parked overnight, locked, in the 2700 block of North 75^th Street. The tearful woman said that she had just on Monday inherited the minivan from her deceased grandfather, who had willed it to her before he passed away.

Wednesday

At 3:52 p.m., the owner of Dust Free Cleaning, 12201 W. Burleigh St., reported that overnight or some time before noon someone had removed and stolen the catalytic converter off one of the company’s vans. Catalytic converters were also reported stolen from a van belonging to Habitat for Humanity Restore, 3015 N. 114^th St., and from two delivery vans belonging to Map Automotive, 2969 N. 114^th St.

A 12:11 p.m., a Milwaukee woman reported that some time since 9 a.m. someone smashed a window in her car and stole a bag containing her $400 breast pump while she was parked at Pick ‘n Save, 6950 W. State St., where she works.

A resident of the 2600 block of North 65^th Street reported that overnight someone smashed out a window in her SUV with a rock and stole change from the center console.

A resident of the 7800 block of West Wright Street reported that overnight someone had entered her unlocked garage and rifled her car, also unlocked, stealing a GPS unit and a laptop computer that were in it.

Tuesday

At 8:25 p.m., a 13-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft at Macy’s in Mayfair Mall after he was seen by a security officer taking a number of T-shirts into a fitting room while carrying a backpack and then coming out without the shirts in hand. He was detained just outside the door and three shirts were found in the backpack. When his mother arrived to pick him up, she told police that her son was “a good kid who wasn’t raised this way” and ordered him to apologize to police officers and Macy’s staff for his actions and to assure everyone it would never happen again.

Monday

A resident of the 2600 block of North 114^th Street reported that between 10:30 and 11:05 p.m., while she was at Anytime Fitness, 8901 W. North Ave., someone broke into her car by smashing a window and stole her purse.

A Frankfort, Ohio, man reported that at about 2 p.m. someone entered his unlocked minivan while he was parked in the former Blockbuster Video lot at 6102 W. North Ave. and stole a laptop computer, a digital camera and a GPS unit. A co-worker said he had seen a kid on a bike riding off carrying a black case that looked like his colleague’s, so he checked the van and saw that it was gone. A woman on a bike rode to him, he said, and told him she had seen the boy entering the car and taking the property. The boy was described as black, 15 to 16 years old, with long curly hair and wearing a gray pullover and a baseball cap.

At 1:25 p.m., a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft at Macy’s after she tried to walk out with two tank tops hidden in a bag.

A resident of an apartment building in the 4700 block of North 100^th Street reported that some time with the previous three days someone had stolen her bicycle out of the apartment garage.
