Sensenbrenner Recovering After Fracture-Causing Fall

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, will not attend Republican National Convention as he remains hospitalized after tripping during event in Butler.

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, is recovering from orthopaedic hip surgery he received Sunday at Froedtert Hospital.

The congressman is “resting comfortably” at the hospital, according to his office.

Sensenbrenner was greeting constituents in Butler when he tripped and fell after catching his foot on wires.

Sensenbrenner had two fractures – one near his elbow and the other at his hip socket, according to his office.

Sensenbrenner will not attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa because of his injuries.

“He will now embark on recovery and looks forward to returning to his congressional duties as soon as possible," states a news release from his office.

His giant, rock-filled head must have tipped him over.

Real nice Michelle. Please don't let the door hit your over sized rear end as you leave the house today.

No need for that, Michele. There are plenty of reasons to legitimately criticize James Sensenbrenner, and accidents can happen to anyone. I wish him a speedy recovery, and maybe some acquired empathy for those of us who would be financially ruined if the same thing happened to us. Especially if he and his party succeed in repealing the Affordable Healthcare Act and modifying Medicare.

This is why you have respect from those of differing opinions.

Get well soon, and then retire. Really. I'm trying to very nice here. And, please do enjoy your awesome health plan, before your buddy Ryan tries to kill it. Oh, that's right, you're super wealthy as a reward from the people you've represented so well and the outstanding job you've done on my behalf, royally messing up our nation's finances. G'Day dude.

By the way, AWD, he keeps an eye of everything, complains about everything, blames everyone, and does nothing. Just saying.....

Sensenbrenner has been a boon for large corporate enterprise at the expense of the citizens he is supposed to represent. For the good of anyone who needs a job to make their living I hope he takes this opportunity to retire from politicking.

I have posted about Big Jim prior to the big fall. I have also indicated that I wish for him to recover, and wish him well. This, not in a sarcastic fashion. And I do sincerely wish he would retire. Most likely best for him, and certainly best for everyone else. No bashing here. Only polite observation and commentary.

Simply put- he has been in the House too long. Maybe this is a sign that he should retire.

Maybe a requirement to remain in congress should be possessing the ability to get there without falling. That certainly seems like a much lower bar than the one he's set for the rest of us...

Sensenbrenner has been a driving force behind the H-1B guest worker visa program... Designed by big business for big business to replace all those pesky and supposedly talentless US citizens with alternatives from the 3rd world, right here in their own country and at a significant cost savings for his corporate cronies.

To Sensenbrenner it matters not whether you spilled your blood in the deserts or the jungle fighting for this country, or whether you helped to build it. If there's someone cheaper in the 3rd world who can be brought here to do your job then you're expendable.

There was once a time when America belonged to American's, but Sensenbrenner has helped change all that. He is a vile human being, but a human being nontheless, so I wish him well in his recovery. I just hope he stays home and stops destroying the working class.

Sensenbrenner HAS been in Congress too long - compared to "recipients" he demonizes he has been on the dole far longer than every unemployed person he criticizes.. The man eats, drinks, &has everything paid for by taxpayers, &has done this for far too many yrs. He has no ideas, &contributes NOTHING. He is a bloated fraud. He gives nothing in return for the pay he gets.. Even his 2X per yr "report" is written& put out by his staff. Literally - he does nothing but show up for some events only when it's close to election time, brags about "all he has done" which is zero while wealthy donors pay to make people believe he actually worked.. All he does is spew GOP party line, &support the 1% &corporations. If you question him, write, suggest anything, bring up any legislation, or attempt any interaction whatsoever, all you get in return is a form letter(written by his office sitters) saying he disagrees& is going to vote his own way,(which is party line), no matter what.. He has been my district rep for far too many yrs.He has yet to give an honest days work.. Has he ever broken a sweat for pay over $147,000 per year? NOT!!! We're tired of paying him to sit on his butt doing nothing for his constituents.. He uses voters only to get re-elected. His attitude of entitlement is disgusting. I wish he would just go away. The sooner the better. We need some fresh blood in Congress!!

Well Tosa, at least I am now rid of him due to the re-districting. But, now stuck with Petri-dish. Very little difference mind you.

Get better Jim! Your constituents need you.
