Wauwatosa resident stopped in Hales Corners with expired license plates and a prohibited blood alcohol level.
A 51-year-old Wauwatosa man is facing felony charges after he was caught allegedly driving drunk with expired license plates.
Kenneth Drew was charged Thursday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated within a five-year period. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Aug. 11, a Hales Corners police officer on patrol spotted Drew driving southbound on South 108th Street near West Abbott Avenue with expired license plates on his Chevrolet Suburban. The officer pulled him over and noticed Drew smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.
He then failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He was taken to a hospital where a blood draw reveled Drew had a blood alcohol level of 0.146 at the time of the incident.
Drew was previously convicted of OWI in 2005, 2009 and 2011. He will make his initial appearance in court Sept. 28.
