Two Charged After Man Threatens to Pull a Gun at Tosa Grocery
Suspect threatens two employees who thwarted shoplifting attempt.
A Milwaukee couple is facing charges after one of them threatened to pull a gun on two grocery store employees after they were caught shoplifting at the Wauwatosa store.
According to the criminal complaint, on Tuesday, Richard Dangerfield, 36, and Amanda Lynn Kiepert, 24, were spotted inside Sentry, 6700 W. State St., taking items from the shelves and hiding them in their pockets. Two employees watched the couple as they went through the store and eventually left.
Outside the store, the couple noticed the employees watching them, so they came back inside, unloaded their pockets and attempted to leave again.
When the employees tried to detain the pair, Dangerfield reached into his jacket and said, “I don’t want to pull out my gun.” The employees backed away and let the two leave. The pair were later arrested.
Dangerfield and Kiepert each face one count of retail theft for trying to steal 28 bottles of body spray and two bottles of shampoo. Dangerfield also faces one count of disorderly conduct and could face up to one year in prison if convicted.
