Last Saturday, the Wauwatosa Wrestling Team advanced three wrestlers to the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament beginning this Thursday, February 21-23 at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Kai Castenada at 113 lbs., Zach Miller at 120 lbs. and Marcus Morrow at 145 lbs. each earned a berth at the state tournament with second place finishes in their respective weight classes.  Only the top two finishers at each weight advance to compete in the state tournament.

"We haven't qualified this many wrestlers to the state tournament since 2008, so this is a nice accomplishment," said Coach Kent Morin.

In addition to the three state qualifiers, three Tosa wrestlers placed third at the sectional tournament -- junior A.J. Minucci at 132 lbs. and seniors Devine Burt at 182 lbs. and Max Nelson at 138 lbs.

Wrestling begins at the Kohl Center at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
