Maybe it is just me, but every channel I turn on there is a charity begging for money for animals in need. I guess this bothers me because I KNOW what goes on in the foster care system and know the need.
Don't get me wrong. I know animals need help, too, but to me, I just think the animals get all of the attention when there are humans out there being ignored.
There are kids that are removed from their parents care due to neglect (the number one reason), physical, mental or sexual abuse. A lot of times, they go back to the home after the parents "get their act together" just to be removed again due to another incident.
A foster parent that I know said "...we had a child come to use three different times each time the abuse was worse then the time before, the first time bruises the second time broken leg the third time they called us at 3 a.m. to pick him up at the police station he had been in the er all night due to second-degree burns all over the left side of his body, and still he went back to the birth parents:("
When are the children going to get the attention they deserve to get the help they need? This is not just an issue in other countries...it happens right here in the US.
How do you help?
Become a foster parent-

or
Anything that you do can make a difference. Any little bit.
Have extra clothes or toys? Let me know, I know caseworkers that can use them for the kids.

I think if the foster children had famous spokes people for them like the animals do, then more would be done. Just my opinion!

So true. As one of the wonderful foster parents I know said, the animal charities are way better at press unfortunately.
