BloodCenter of Wisconsin is paying tribute to all those who save the day — our armed forces veterans as well as the everyday heroes who donate blood to help others in need.
All attempting donors will receive a special “Honoring those who Save the Day” t-shirt —a gift to commemorate the Memorial Day holiday and thank donors for their generosity.
Friday, May 23
7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Milwaukee County War Memorial, Memorial Hall
750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee
After your donation, enjoy access to Veterans Gallery, which features military displays, exhibits and commemorative items as well as a special exhibit on the Korean War.
There is currently a particular need for platelet donors. Platelets can be needed by many different patients including people having heart surgery or undergoing chemotherapy.
Walk-ins are welcome, but donors can schedule an appointment by visiting www.bcw.edu/heroes, m.bcw.edu on a mobile device, or by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO (1-877-232-4376). Donors should bring a photo ID that includes birth date.
