Public invited to children’s Christmas musical about allergic shepherd

As Christmas approaches, thoughts turn to stars, angels and shepherds. Well, sometimes shepherds have issues.

The children of Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church, 1520 Wauwatosa Ave., will perform "Aaron the Allergic Shepherd" during the 9:45 a.m. worship service on Dec. 18.

The public is invited to this seasonal family program.

In this Christmas musical for young voices created by Ruth Elaine Schram and Mark Cabaniss, the newest shepherd in Bethlehem is a young man named Aaron. And, Aaron has a big problem – he is allergic to sheep.

The other shepherds are going to visit the savior born in the stable, but won’t let Aaron go because of all his sneezing.

WAUMC’s two children’s choirs and Sunday school students will tell the story of Aaron and the miracle at the stable through song, enthusiastic acting and maybe even some sneezing! This humorous Christmas musical is organized and directed by children’s choir directors Sue Watson of Brookfield and Genevieve Jorn of Muskego.

The church’s 12-member handbell choir will also perform three selections of sacred, seasonal music during the service.

Parking is available behind the church off of Underwood Avenue.
