Christ King Parish Festival

The fourth annual Christ King Parish Festival is gearing up for another weekend of good food, great fun and lots of laughter.  This year’s Festival is set for June 24 and 25 at Christ King Parish on the corner of 92nd and Center streets in Wauwatosa.  There will be games for young and old, great music and fellowship for one and all.  The fun begins at 3pm on Friday, June 24 and continues until 10pm.  On Saturday, June 25, the Festival hours are 11am to 10pm.

The Festival will start on a sweet note with the return of the Cake Off, a cake decorating contest.  Your creation could be judged Best of the Fest! We’re calling all bakers with decorating skills to submit their sweet creations on Friday, June 24 from 9-11am in the Parish center.  Cakes will be judged from 12-1pm, with 1st through 3rd place winners in the Kid, Teen and Adult categories winning Festival tickets. Cakes and cupcakes submitted will be used as prizes for the popular Cake Walk game.

Christ King School Alumni: we've got a tent just for you!  Come home to Christ King and renew old friendships with teachers and students.  On Saturday, June 25, all alumni are invited to celebrate Mass at 4:30, followed by a reception in the School Spirit Tent from 6:00-9:00pm.  See the Christ King Parish Festival Facebook page for registration info, or call Stephanie Merz at 414-479-0096. Refreshments will be served and old friendships renewed.

Attention all teens: there’s a new spot just for you at this year’s Festival. The iTeen Tent will be shuffling great tunes all weekend. Get your groove on, play Ping Pong, hang out. It’s all good.

NEW this year is the Annual Fund Raffle. Tickets will be sold throughout the day Friday and Saturday for great prizes, on display on the Festival grounds.  The winners will be drawn Saturday June 25 at 8pm, and you do not need to be present to win. All proceeds will benefit the Annual Fund at Christ King School, helping families provide a quality Catholic education for their children. Back by popular demand is the 50/50 Raffle, where the lucky winner will split the cash kitty with the parish.  You don't have to be present to win, but you can't win if you don't play!  The winner will be drawn nightly at 7:45pm.

Our music line-up is second to none, with live bands and performances all weekend.  Popular teen band (and Christ King School alumni) Fat Side Down starts things off at 6:00 Friday on the Main Stage, followed by Red Letter Edition at 8pm.  On Saturday, the cast of Godspell, Jr. from Christ King Middle School will perform at 1 and 5pm and the Cashel Dennehy Irish Dancers will wow the crowd at 2pm. The Chickadees will be making their Festival debut on Saturday at 3pm with fun for the stroller set. Singer-songwriter Paul Rebek will perform at 6pm, and Mystery Train will rock into the night beginning at 8pm. Check out the performance schedule on the Christ King Parish Festival page on Facebook for all the details.

We've got games planned for all ages, including inflatables that let adults get in on the action!  The Super Slide will plunge daredevils down a 24’ drop. Kids’ BINGO is back kids can play Bingo at the School Spirit Tent throughout the day June 24 and 25. There are also plenty of games to test your mettle, from ring toss to the fishie pond. Test your speed at the football, baseball or frisbee toss games, or show off your concentration on the miniature golf course.  Don't miss the arts & crafts tent for face painting and other creative fun.

Food?  Oh, yeah, we've got you covered.  From roasted corn to hot dogs to Al’s Famous Tacos, sweet treats and more, you'll find what you want to satisfy your craving, with MillerCoors products to wash it all down.
