Shine Up Your Dancing Shoes – Hartfest Is Right Around the Corner

It will be boots on the ground all around as rock takes on country and gets married at Hartfest, revving up next Friday and cruising through Saturday night.

Food, drink, activities and music, lots of music – that's Wauwatosa's summer kick-off party, known as Hartfest and set to rock next weekend.

Centered on the Rotary Performance Stage in Hart Park, Hartfest as usual comes to life on Friday evening at 5 and reconvenes at noon Saturday for a full afternoon and night of sights and sounds.

There is no admission fee to Hartfest.

Starting Friday's lineup of two acts is Eagle Trace, playing from 5 to 7:15 p.m.

After an intermission to reset the stage, they'll be followed by The Toys, from 8 until 11 p.m.

Saturday, things could get loud if later acts try to outdo the opener, if names mean anything.

Big Noise is set to go at 1 p.m. and will amp it up until 4; Highfield Drive will follow with a countrified set from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and festival closer Rebel Grace brings it all home from 8 to 11 p.m.

There will also be food and beverage tents, a softball tournament and a 5K run or walk for those inclined to exercise before dancing (or those inclined to dance for 2 miles).

Sponsoring Hartfest are Leff's Lucky Town, Locker's Florist, Johnson's Cycle and Fitness, Prime Time Timing and 102.9 FM radio, a.k.a., "The Hog."
