‘Fight For $15’ Comes to Wauwatosa

McDonald's employees at Mayfair and Burleigh join national protest for better wages.

Nationwide walkouts by fast-food workers came to Wauwatosa on Thursday.

Two workers at the McDonald’s at Mayfair Road and Burleigh Street walked off the job Thursday morning as a protest against low wages, JSOnline.com reported.

Similar protests occurred in New York City in April and in the St. Louis area in May, among others and they have spread in the last few days to Chicago, Kansas City, Detroit and Flint, MI.

Workers at fast food and other retain locations such as Whole Foods are seeking wages of $15 per hour and the right to unionize, according to JSOnline.com.
