The 41-year old landmark store opened as a family-owned business and has remained that way through the years. Also a manufacturer of its own product line, Nirav, IGS distributes to more than 3,000 retailers and restaurants nationwide. IGS also houses ishopIndian.com, one of the fastest-growing internet businesses in the industry.

Loyal customers have been eagerly awaiting the opening of the new IGS, which will be 11,000 square feet, four times the size of the old store, with spacious aisles, extensive frozen goods, expanded produce selection, expanded grab-and-go deli, and plenty of parking.

The new store will also carry a huge variety of products not available at other local stores that will draw a wide customer base of Indians and non-Indians including people of European, African and Middle-Eastern decent. Centrally located in Wauwatosa near the busy Mayfair shopping district, this four-story building will also have a beauty salon and an Ayurvedic practitioner as residents.

Dinesh, Bharti and Neil Sanghavi, owners of IGS, had been looking to expand their store for several years. When they discovered the building directly across the street, they knew it would be perfect.

“After all of the work we’ve put into this beautiful building, getting the best equipment and selecting a wonderful variety of products, I and the rest of our family could not be more excited for our Grand Opening.” Dinesh Sanghavi said. “I truly hope everyone in Milwaukee with a passion for food and cooking will come and see what we’re all about.”

Area residents are invited to the Grand Opening, which will include a ribbon-cutting by the Honorable Mayor of Wauwatosa, Kathy Ehley, as well as complimentary food and drinks.
