Qdoba Fans Line Up For Early Lunch

Boys were out at the crack of dawn to be first in the door for their favorite – seasoned beef burritos.

Some people just can't get enough burritos soon enough.

A fair-sized crowd had gathered in front of Qdoba in the Village an hour before Tuesday's 10:30 a.m. opening, enough to fill most of the outdoor tables.

None were quite so early though, as four true Qdoba fanatics.

"Yes, we have thes four high school boys who've been here since 6:30 a.m., wanting to be the first ones in the door," said Abby Lutgen, marketing manager for Roaring Fork Restaurant Group.

"They even came in and offered help out."

Indeed. Cal McCaffrey, jack Bekos, Alex Hushhek and Cole Shaefer occupied the table nearest the door. All will be entering Marquette University High School this fall.

"We got here so early just because we love burritos," Schaefer said. "Qdoba is awesome! Especially the seasoned ground beef."

Awesome enough to offer free labor?

"Yeah, we hung some signs and stuff," Schaefer said. "We're just having fun."

Being first inside could have been worth more than one burrito to the friends.

"We're giving away free goody bags to our first 50 customers," Lutgen said. "One of them has a card for free burritos for a year."

A boy's dream come true.
