WAUMC Community Coffee House to welcome Radio Rosies, Windy Hill Brass

Jazz up winter when you swing into the Community Coffee House at Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church, 1529

Wauwatosa Ave., on Saturday, Jan. 25 to hear the Radio Rosies and Windy Hill

Brass. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music from 7 – 9 p.m.



Free-will offerings
will be collected for admission and light refreshments. Proceeds benefit the Habitat for Humanity house being built by WAUMC, St. Pius X 
and Christ King parishes in
Wauwatosa and Emmanuel Community UMC in
Menomonee Falls with a small stipend for the musicians.

Free parking is available behind the church off Underwood Avenue in the ramp and surface lot across from the fire station. Enter the building through the southwest door (red roof) or the northwest door (handicap accessible) off the upper level of the parking structure.



Elizabeth Novacek,
Brittany Sheehan and Catherine Hannah Davis are the Radio Rosies. Their musical inspiration comes from famous sisters groups of the 1930s, 40s and 50s,
including the Andrews, Dinnings, Boswells, McGuires and Lennons.

The Radio Rosies offer classic three-part harmonies. Their swing, boogie-woogie, jazz and folk repertoire includes beloved favorites and rare gems like the Andrews Sisters’ "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and “I’ll Be with You in Apple Blossom Time” and the McGuire Sisters’ "Sugartime".


Sandy Frisque on horn, David Jensen on trombone and Craig W. Hurst and Brett Meyer on trumpet are the Windy Hill Brass. They play a variety of classical music dating back to the Renaissance with popular selections showcasing a variety of styles, including pop and jazz.

“Canzona per Sonare No. 2” by Giovanni Gabrieli, Morton Gould’s “Cowboy Rhapsody” and “The Circus Bee March” by Henry Fillmore are among the songs they’ll share.


Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church dates back to 1848 and began with 42-members. Today, the congregation is more than 400 strong and firmly committed to inclusiveness, celebrating a diversity of people, ideas and cultures.

WAUMC offers two Sunday services, Christian education classes for individuals ages 3 through adult, a variety of adult and youth music programs and Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops. The congregation is involved with more than a dozen local, national and international mission
outreach efforts.
