Yin Yoga: for Stress and Anxiety

Are you a busy person? Do you sometimes experience stress, worry or anxiety? Are you prone towards depression in the winter months or at anytime of the year? If so, this workshop will do wonders for your body, mind and spirit. Together we will move through a series of long-held, passive stretches, each of which will soothe the nervous system and calm the mind. We will focus on poses that stimulate the stomach and spleen energy channels. These are the organs that rule the emotions of worry and anxiety, and the stomach is the first place that stress, anxiety and a restless mind will begin to create imbalances in the body. By stimulating the energy channels that govern these areas, we will clear out blockages, creating a deep sense of calm and clarity. Beyond this release, we will deeply stretch our muscles, learn calming, deep breathing techniques and practice a very simple form of meditation.
