Non-Profit Agency Offers $125K in Home Repairs in Tosa

Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee (RTGM) on Wednesday announced $125,000 in home repairs is available to qualified disabled, elderly and veteran Wauwatosa residents. 

“It is our mission to provide free, professional quality home repairs to low-income homeowners,” said Lynnea Katz-Petted, CEO of Rebuilding Together Greater Milwaukee. “We are excited to extend this mission into Wauwatosa and provide services that make for safer and stronger homes.” 

RTGM is looking to support Wauwatosa’s vibrant community by investing in its seniors. Potential services include accessibility improvements, electrical repairs, energy efficiency upgrades, general carpentry, plumbing repairs, and security updates. Emergency repairs are also available and will be addressed within 24 to 48 hours of the initial call. 

“We hope to increase our presence in Wauwatosa and encourage people to recommend our services to friends and neighbors in need,” says Erin Goff, program manager of RTGM. “The program runs through the end of the year, or until funds run out. We encourage homeowners to apply early and take advantage of this opportunity.” 

To qualify, homeowners must have owned and occupied a single-family or joint-owned duplex home for at least five years. Applicants must also be current on their property taxes or property tax installment payment plan. Finally, homeowners must be at least 60 years of age and low-income, or a veteran or person living with a disability and low-income. However, low-income families with children will be considered.
