Wauwatosa Needs a Proven Leader

See why I'm running for Mayor of Wauwatosa.

I am running for mayor because I not only have passion for our community, but I also have invested many years channeling that passion into hard work to improve Wauwatosa’s economic standing and quality of life.

We need a Mayor who not only has the ability to manage the budget and infrastructure challenges, but also builds the structure and staffing to effectively prepare our city for proactive, thoughtful economic development. We need a mayor who can lead solutions and build consensus on issues that impact on our neighborhoods. Our next mayor must work with the police on safety issues, promote Wauwatosa as the place to live and do business; and work with our community businesses and citizens to solve tough challenges. I have the experience and skills to meet those needs.

My proven record of leading planning and economic development within the Village of Wauwatosa will be a valuable asset in directing citywide planning and development. During my five years as Executive Director of the Village of Wauwatosa Business Improvement District, the Village commercial area has grown and prospered. At a time when other communities are facing increasing vacancies, the Village is a vibrant destination for shoppers and diners from throughout the Milwaukee area.

I have established effective, productive working relationships with city officials, the City Administrator, department directors and staff. On a daily basis, I work closely with Engineering, Public Works, Parks, Police, Fire, Administration, Economic Development and Finance to find solutions on a wide range of issues, including safety, street construction, sewer and flooding issues, business recruitment and economic development.

As a board member of the Neighborhood Association Council and block watch captain, I am actively involved in efforts that strengthen our neighborhoods, maintain property values and prevent crime, with many positive results. I understand the important balance and interconnectedness between our neighborhoods, commercial development and our green spaces.

Through my leadership in the Education Foundation of Wauwatosa, I have been involved in grassroots efforts to maintain the high standards and strong reputation of Wauwatosa’s public schools. The EFW raises funds and provides grants for creative, innovative projects that are outside of the operating budget yet greatly enrich our children’s educational opportunities.

I have a proven track record of promoting Wauwatosa as the premier place to live, work, locate a successful business and raise a family.

I am proven and involved leader with a passion and vision for Wauwatosa. I ask for your vote on Tuesday, February 21.
