Gossip, Gingrich, and the GOP

After recently becoming one of the faces of the GOP, I decided to Google search my name...

Lets clear the air, it's getting a little thick.

After recently becoming one of the faces of the GOP, if you will, as one of the organizers of the successful Celebrate Walker Rally, I knew I was subjecting myself to controversy and, certainly, allowing myself to be a target for criticism of the left. Realizing this, and knowing their typical antics, I decided to Google search my name.

I've been involved in politics for quite some time now, heading both national and state organizations, naturally, of a conservative origin. And, with a background in media, including regular editorial columns, I was not surprised a bit that the first three pages of search results led to the expected websites, with the remaining highlights being the three other Noelle Lorraines (if you can believe that), including the one who actually lives in the same small town that I do. But then came the new, obscure results from off in left field.

I can't believe that the liberals can't make up something a little more interesting than what I found on the first link I clicked. The assailant, a man who hides behind the keyboard with the pseudo name 'happytransplant1'. This person announces on the Tosa Town Square (which, in my opinion, is nothing more than a gossip tabloid) that I am the founder of Smart Girl Politics (SGP). He claims to have found my SGP page when conducting his own 'research' for the Celebrate Walker Rally.

According to my definition, research should return accurate results. But to be precise, I am not the founder of SGP, a national non-partisan woman’s organization, whose mission statement is engaging, empowering, and educating other conservative females. My role with this 501C(3), is state coordinator for Wisconsin, so the first inaccurate words out of happytransplant1's cyber-mouth were erroneous – by a long shot. Anything else he would have to say – from this point forward was nothing but a joke to me, even before I read it. Normally, I respect other people's opinions, even if they are polar opposites of my own. But this guy was a gag from the word go. To no surprise, I literally laughed out loud as I read on.

“On there (SGP, I assume), a supporter wrote why she is willing to 'forgive' Newt for his dalliances... Southern girls accept that Christian men will screw around outside their marriage, in fact, they expect no less. They admittedly stay married because of financial security, and reputation. Oh, and religion. So much for smart girl politics.”

Okay Mr. happytransplant1, I've got some news for you: No place on my SGP page does it say anything about condoning infidelity, gold digging, reputation or religion. Nor does it mention a word about Newt Gingrich for that matter. And another thing, although I am the first Midwestern-born generation in a long line of deep-Southern lineage, I am not Southern.

And one more thing, if you think you know my moral make-up, you'd throw out the real fact that I was married to a man with family money – a partnership that proved to me that money cannot buy love, or happiness. I left it all behind, including child support, for my one shot at happiness. If I thought philandering was okay in exchange for financial security, I wouldn’t be busting my butt as a single mom to make ends meet. And for the record, to insinuate religion is a free pass to cheat is the most ludicrous statement I’ve ever heard – and quite the oxymoron, too.

Do I want to be married? Absolutely – one day, to the right man for me. At the end of the day, don’t most people want a metaphorical white picket fence? I sure do, but certainly not at the cost of turning a blind eye to infidelity, with the implication that political affiliation is the umbrella of acceptance. Next time someone chooses to research me, with the MO of throwing political stones, I hope they actually follow through with the investigation. I am all over the web, you don’t have to look very hard for very long to find real facts about me and my lifestyle.

As far as my stand on certain heated issues, I've decided to save the opposition some time; here’s my point-of-view....

I am pro-life, and pro death penalty. A position some may consider hypocritical, nonetheless, it is my stand. I don’t feel it's OK to take the life of the unborn – and personally, I find partial birth abortion particularly horrifying. What could possibly be a reason to kill a baby that may be able to live outside the womb on its own? Unlike the pro-choicers who says first trimester fetuses aren’t even a human yet, they can't possibly suggest the same for babies that can thrive on their own.

Conversely, I do not think it's wrong to take the life of a murderer. If an adult chooses to commit cold-blooded homicide, is caught, and convicted in the court of law, I personally feel it is justified to execute him by way of lethal injection. And I’ll go further into the realm of extreme: I think using the humane lethal injection for someone who has killed another person violently is letting them off the hook easy.

If I had my way, they would suffer like their victim – only three-fold. If it were my loved one, I’d offer to flip the metaphorical switch. I think most people would. I present a scenario to the naysayers: it is your child they found savage raped and beaten to death by the riverbank. Do you still want to protect the killer and be humane? I don’t think anyone should compare an innocent child to a cold-blooded killer, in particular, when talking about taking their life for whatever reason it may be.

Another hot button: Do I think the rich should take care of the lower class? Maybe. But only by creating jobs within the successful companies that led them to great wealth, certainly not by taking care of lazy people who want to sit on their butts, without a job, while they feed their face with food stamp purchased groceries.

Most likely, these people who use the system to not earn an honest living, have a litter of children. Case in point, during the foreclosure slump, some friends and I bought some investment properties to fix and sell once the market improved. In the interim, the homes would be rented out to cover the overhead. I'll never forget when one of the renters who had four kids to every bedroom of the three-bedroom property, told one of my partners the newborn in her arms was her new “paycheck.” I swear that is the honest-to-goodness truth of the matter. A new baby, a new paycheck?

I'd say that’s manipulating the system to live off the one-percent. I think we should allow the rich to create jobs to allow individuals like this mother of too many to get off their backsides and earn a real paycheck, rather than letting her give birth to another child who is most likely a burden beyond the paycheck the kid is worth to her. We are doing an injustice to the nation by allowing entitlements to go beyond those who use them as a temporary, emergency relief. But that’s just my opinion.

Sure, I could go on-and-on with where I stand and why, but I wont. I believe I gave the lefty bloggers enough material for a few days. What next? I can only imagine. But at least they have a few intimate facts to work with now. As for happytransplant1, some things can't be bought, like me, for example. Get your facts straight, because there many more where I come from, and knowing the opposition is one's best weapon.

Oh, one more thing, never underestimate a Smart Girl.
