Accord Flips on Hood After Striking Parked Car

The driver was taken away on a stretcher but was conscious and talking with paramedics when she was taken away.

A Honda Accord was flipped on its roof in the middle of North 68th Street on Tuesday after striking a parked car.

The accident occurred about 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of 68th and Terrace Court.

According to a witness driving behind the Honda, the car was traveling north on 68th and had a left-turn signal on, but drifted right and struck a parked BMW Mini-Cooper on 68th.

A woman was taken from the Accord, put in a neck brace and strapped to a board before being lifted onto a stretcher and taken away by ambulance. She was conscious and talking with paramedics.

The Mini-Cooper suffered damage to the left rear quarter.

Its owner, Gina Schneider, was in her home in the 1000 block of 68th Street and heard, rather than saw, the accident. She expressed sympathy for the driver of the car that struck hers and was glad to see that her injuries did not appear to be serious.

But as to her own fortunes, Schneider said: "It sucks. I just got my car fixed 'cause somebody had hit it, and now – yeah, here we are. I'll get it fixed again."
