Former Macy's Employee Charged With Stealing Nearly $4k From the Store

Suspect stole the money after just one month of employment in order to sell store credit in exchange for cash to a man she met on the streets.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing embezzlement charges after she stole nearly $4,000 from Macy’s in only one month working at the store.

According to the criminal complaint, Danietta M. Ward began working at the store in September and soon after met a man on the streets named Donny who told her he could get her money in exchange for credit.

Ward then began scanning bar codes on sheets of paper at the store and would process them as returns and transfer the return value to a store easy exchange card, which she would then in turn sell to the man in exchange for cash.
