Funeral Plans Announced for Tosa Officer Jennifer Sebena

Services will be Saturday at noon at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield following a morning visitation.

From the Wauwatosa Police Department:

The funeral for Officer Jennifer L. Sebena, who was killed in the line of duty, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Elmbrook Church, 777 S. Barker Rd., Brookfield WI 53045.

Visitation at the church will be from 9 a.m. to noon, with the service immediately following.

Interment will then be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield.

All agencies participating in the squad procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park will assemble at Elmbrook Church by noon.

For those wishing to provide further assistance, the Wauwatosa Peace Officer’s Association (WPOA) has set up a Memorial Fund for funeral expenses and a cause to be determined at a later time.

Donations should be made out to the “Officer Jen Sebena Memorial Fund,” and can be dropped off at any Focus Credit Union Branch. Focus Credit Union has branches at the following locations:

From Wauwatosa Patch:

Officer Sebena was found dead during her duty shift on Monday, Christmas Eve morning. After a last contact with her at 3:29 a.m., dispatchers attempted to reach her for a duty call for service and she did not respond.

At 4:38 a.m., a fellow officer searching for her found her body in the north parking lot of the Wauwatosa Fire Station No. 1, at 1601 Underwood Ave. She had been shot multiple times.

On Tuesday evening, Christmas Day, Sebena's husband, Benjamin Sebena, was taken into custody and held at the West Allis Police Department in the investigation of the homicide. No formal arrest or charges have been announced.
