UPDATE: Pervert Alert – Far Too Close to Tosa Pool

Updated at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday: A man matching this suspect's description  has been seen by others lurking near the pool and watching kids through the fence on a number of occasions (see below).

It would be far too easy to make light of this "man with a limp," but for that he was engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior just a few yards from and any number of children during the height of public swimming hours.

A Wauwatosa couple reported that while they were walking through Hoyt Park near the pool at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, they encountered a man masturbating just beyond the west end of the Menomonee River footbridge.

They said that when they first noticed the man, they both clearly saw that he was exposing and holding his penis outside his shorts, and they thought he had urinated and was "shaking himself." He did not see them, though, and they said that after he continued to vigorously shake himself up and down for more than a minute, they realized what he was doing and decided to call .

When he did notice them, he quickly walked away around the back of the Tosa Pool complex, looking furtively over his shoulder at them as they followed, to the parking lot, where he left hurriedly in a red sedan.

The couple did not get a make or model or the license number and police could not locate him.

The witnesses described the suspect as a white man, 60 to 65 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing 200 to 215 pounds, with short white hair, wearing shorts and walking with a distinct limp.

UPDATE: Alert reader Laura Mierow contacted Wauwatosa Patch on Facebook to say that her daughters have complained to her about an older white-haired man who "creeped them out at the pool, and from their description it sounds like the same guy."

"This man has a limp and either a dark green or navy blue cruiser-type bike with hand brakes and often wears 'aviator' type glasses when he is hanging outside the pool fence observing the people in the pool and the diving area," Mierow wrote.

From her account, it appears that the initial report may not have represented an isolated incident, and others may have noticed this suspect's behavior as well.
