Police Blotter: Bus Driver Calls Police for Help with Disorderly Youth

He tells police county bus drivers face repeated attacks.

It’s not easy to be a Milwaukee County bus driver these days.

A juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 1400 block of Harmonee Avenue on Tuesday at 9:46 a.m. after a Milwaukee County bus driver stopped the bus and asked police to respond to two disorderly passengers.

The bus driver said he was driving through Wauwatosa when two juveniles, ages 14 and 17, were using loud and profane language. He asked them to calm down. They continued doing it, so he stopped the bus and called police. At that point one of the boys allegedly said, “Let’s throw him off the bus.”

An 18-year-old man was skateboarding on the trail from the pool area, 1800 N. Swan Blvd., Wednesday afternoon, when five Milwaukee youth on bicycles confronted him and asked for change.

One of the youth then tried to grab his wallet and punched him twice in the jaw and ear with a fist, then ran toward the pool, Wauwatosa police reports say.

A short time later, police stopped the group of males on bicycles. Two rode off quickly but were stopped.  All suspects were taken to the Wauwatosa Police Department. One had a temporary warrant for felony burglary with the Milwaukee Police Department. He told police the victim had called the main suspect’s mother a racial slur.

A second boy said he is suspended from 10th grade, and they all rode out to Wauwatosa because they were bored.  He denied taking money and said he was sorry for punching the man. He had 13 prior juvenile and one adult arrest. The boys were 14, 15, 16, and 17. One was a 21-year-old man.

Wauwatosa police are referring the case to the Milwaukee County Children’s Center for possible charges of strong arm robbery with use of force.
