At 10:41 a.m., a 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and habitual criminality after police were called to Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., to investigate a suspicious merchandise return. When searched, he was found to have four crack pipes in his car. The man eventually admitted his part as a “return man” in a ring of crime in which thieves steal valuable merchandise, then turn it over to others who have proper identification to make a return, receiving gift cards in exchange and then getting a “cut” from the sale of the gift cards. The man’s 45-year-old companion, also from Milwaukee, was also arrested for possession of stolen property.

Two more people reported that their cars were damaged overnight at Luther Manor, 4545 N. 92nd St. Both cars had windows broken, but nothing was missing from either. The owner of one of the cars said a suspicious character had been seen in the lot at about 3:20 a.m., but police had not been called. Three cars had been broken into there earlier in the week.
