Police Report: Four Arrests in Separate Burglaries

Arson, lewd behavior and home break-ins also reported.

Twice in two days burglars attempted to break into the at 6804 W. North Ave., and each time were scared off when the store's security alarms sounded.

Suspects who broke the storefront glass and set off an alarm about 2:30 a.m. Monday fled by car and escaped. The two suspects who tried the same thing about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday were scared off by the alarm and fled in a car, but later were stopped by police and arrested after a foot chase.

In the Wednesday break-in, video surveillance captured on tape the white, four-door sedan driven by the suspects, which police later spotted heading south in the 2000 block of Wauwatosa Avenue. After following the suspect's car as it winded through the village and headed west on Watertown Plank Road, police turned on the squad's emergency lights to pull over the car, which turned out to be stolen.

Wauwatosa police received a call about 10:30 a.m. Monday that two men broke into and were trying to rob a D&S/Davian's Food Services truck parked in a business lot at 11415 W. Burleigh St.

When the first officer arrived on the scene, the van was rocking and the officer heard a loud bang from inside the delivery truck, apparently the sound of bolt cutters breaking through a lock on one of two safes in the truck.

The suspects' minivan was parked next to the delivery truck, and one suspect was in that car. The second suspect came out of the delivery truck and climbed into the minivan, tossing bolt cutters through an open window before climbing in.

The police officer then pulled his gun and ordered the suspects to remain in the minivan and keep their hands up until backup arrived.  When additional officers arrived, the men, both aged 44, were arrested without incident.
