Milwaukee cop waiting for his family slightly injured wrestling with woman in parking lot.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 16-year-old Milwaukee boy were arrested after officers were dispatched to Mayfair Mall Aug. 30 on a report than an off-duty police was wrestling with a shoplifting suspect in the parking lot.

According to reports:

Officers found a Milwaukee police officer had put a very irate woman on the pavement. She continued to resist as Wauwatosa officers tried to take control of her.

The Milwaukee officer said he had been in the parking lot waiting to pick up his family when he saw a man run out of the store carrying an armload of men’s clothing and dropping articles as he ran around apparently looking for a waiting vehicle.

The officer identified himself as a police officer and told the man to stop. Instead, he turned and pretended he was pointing a gun, causing the officer to duck while he unholstered his own weapon. The officer then heard someone yelling to the man and saw him headed toward a moving Mercury Sable with no license plates.

The officer got into his own car, took off after the Sable and cut it off. The car had three other men and a woman in it, all of whom jumped out and ran.

The officer was able to catch and detain only the woman. The boy was captured on foot a couple of blocks to the north of the mall.

The Milwaukee officer suffered a cut lip in the incident with the woman. She was charged with resisting an officer as well as retail theft, and she was found to have four open warrants.
