He said he had just returned home, parked in the driveway and let himself in the front door when he noticed drawers open and other disturbances. He called police and then drove a short distance away because he had his 4-year-old daughter with him and did not know if the home was secure.

Police responded with K-9 officer Addy, who found no one in the home. Police conducted a thorough search with the owner, who found that besides the TV, he was missing a large amount of cash, a video game console, a touchpad computer, a digital camera and video games. Police were unable to find signs of a forced entry, but did find fresh footprints in the snow that did not belong to the owner, possibly indicating an entry through a patio door. The owner believed it had been locked but could not say for sure.

A neighbor told officers that her granddaughters had mentioned seeing a white van parked on the street near the victim’s home at about 7:45 p.m.
