At 10:23 a.m., a citizen called to say there was a stop sign lying in the middle of the softball diamond in the 2000 block of 122nd. Saturday

At 1:25 p.m., a South Milwaukee man stopped at the Wauwatosa police station to turn in eight driver’s licenses he said he had just found scattered in the street at North Mayfair Road and West Congress Street. Police found that the licenses belonged to seven people from Wisconsin and one from Illinois, four to women and four to men, all but one were expired, with the only common thread being that all the owners were born in the 1980s. Police planned to contact only the owner of the unexpired license to return it. The others were photocopied for records and then destroyed.

Friday

At 4:40 p.m., a 16-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft at Mayfair Mall after she was seen in the Ragstock store hiding a black bustier in her purse and leaving without paying. She was stopped by Mayfair security and returned the bra, but she refused to return to the store or be detained. She headed for the mall exit, ignoring requests to stop. However, at the mall exit, she ran into Wauwatosa police and was halted and arrested without further resistance. The girl said she had $150 cash on her but didn’t feel like spending it.

At 4:08 p.m., a manager at CVS Pharmacy reported that a suspect known by sight from previous liquor thefts had just made off with five more bottles and left in a maroon SUV with another man at the wheel. The manager gave police a license number but it was not associated with an SUV.
