Two Injured in Rollover Car Crash In Caledonia

A three-car crash Thursday morning sent two people to the hospital. One of those injured had to be extricated from the car and was taken by a Flight For Life helicopter.

**Updated 5 p.m.

A three-vehicle crash at 8:20 a.m. Thursday sent two people to the hospital; one of them via Flight for Life.

According to a press release from the Caledonia Police Department, Sheryl Bink, 20, of Racine, was driving a Pontiac Grand Am east in the 7100 block of Five Mile Road when she hit a trailer parked on the side of the road. Bink then hit an on-coming van and flipped over.

She had to be extricated and was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital where she is in serious condition.

John Pavlik, 57, was driving the van, and he was transported to Wheaton Franciscan via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Five Mile Road was shut down in both directions for about two hours.

Caledonia PD continues to investigate what caused the accident but do not believe alcohol was a factor.

Editor's Note: In an earlier version of this story, we stated that police were investigating if alcohol or inattentive driving were a factor in the accident. When we updated the story with information from the release from Caledonia PD, we neglected to clarify that alcohol was probably not a cause. We have since corrected the information and regret the error.

I live at the house where the trailer was parked. They were at my house to repair the gutter. There were 2 orange cones behind the trailer. One was demolished, the other landed up the road. They did patch the trailer with osb or plywood covering the hole in the trailer before they left the scene. There were at least 3 witnesses that stayed at the scene and talked with police. One special woman who works for Marathon Restoration got out of her car and layed on the ground talking to the girl in the car. She stated the phone was in the girls jacket pocket. An accident is just that.... an accident. The fact that everyone will be okay is wonderful.

Brian, we do own a black enclosed trailer that has no lettering on it. It is stored at our property up north. The trailer in the accident was from a gutter place there to repair our gutter.

Although we do own a business, it was NOT our trailer parked along the road. Who came up with the idea of our employee talking to the business owner? The employee of the gutter company came to the door to discuss gutter repair. Yes, they were parked in front of a CUSTOMERS HOUSE.
