Woman Accused of Losing Head – and Costing Mannequin Hers

A Wind Lake woman is accused of trying to steal three times from Boston Store, then beheading a mannequin while being taken into custody by officers.

A 38-year-old Wind Lake woman is accused of trying to steal more than $500 worth of merchandise from Boston Store three times, then smashing and beheading a display mannequin while being arrested on her third chance.

Myadag Jamgan was charged Sunday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of retail theft, one count of criminal damage to property and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, she faces up to 21 months in prison and $21,000 in fines.

On Dec. 10, Jamgan was in Boston Store with a shopping cart with $559 worth of merchandise in it, and she began to push it out the door without paying for the items. She was stopped by security officers, and Jamgan said she was lost and looking for friends. She was allowed to go back inside the store.

Boston Store doesn’t provide shopping carts for customers, and security was not sure where Jamgan got the cart.

Jamgan tried to push the cart out a second time and was again stopped. She then went to a register and got a number of shopping bags from a clerk, loaded the items into the bags, put them in the cart and tried again to push it out the door, but was stopped for a third time.

This time, Jamgan was escorted to the security office, where she became agitated. When a Wauwatosa police officer arrived at the store, Jamgan was wearing one handcuff and smelled of alcohol, he said – a lot of alcohol.

A store manager said that when he entered the room, Jamgan charged at him and bit his hand while he attempted to push her off of him.

As the police officer was escorting Jamgan from the store, she began to shout “(expletive) Boston Store! I hate you, Boston Store! I will never come here again! I hate you, Boston Store!”

She then kicked a $2,000 mannequin, which toppled over, causing its head to fall off and shatter on the floor.

A Boston Store manager, having about had it with the whole affair, ran after, shouting at both Jamgan and the police about the damage to the mannequin. Police assured him that would be handled in due course.

Jamgan will make her initial appearance in court Jan. 10.
