Three Armed Men Hold Up Manager, Co-Worker Outside Dollar Tree

Robbers, all with guns, were waiting near manager's car after closing as she carried cash receipts out of store.

Two women feared for their lives, they told police, during a gunpoint robbery outside the store where they work that clearly targeted the day's cash receipts.

The women said that three men were involved and all had guns.

At 9:33 p.m. last Monday, a Milwaukee woman frantically reported she and a co-worker had just been robbed in the parking lot of Dollar Tree, 2851 N. Mayfair Rd., by three men with guns.

She told officers she was the store manager and had just locked up and was walking to her car with another employee while carrying the day’s cash deposit bag.

She said she noticed another car with dark-tinted rear windows parked two spaces beyond hers, which she thought suspicious because no one ever parks on that side of the building.

Just as she opened her door, she said, she heard the sound of the other car’s doors opening. She turned to find a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt facing her and brandishing a black handgun.

Then two more men got out of the car, also holding guns, and approached her co-worker on the other side of her car.

The man confronting her said, “Where’s the money at?” and told her to get on the ground and hand over the cash. He then pushed her to the ground, where she dropped her purse and keys.

The three men then took the bank deposit bag as well as her purse and keys.

The co-worker had tried to surreptitiously retrieve her cell phone from her work apron and ducked down to call 911, but the robbers spotted her and threatened her, saying, “Give me that phone. Get down. If you look up I’ll kill you.” She handed over the phone.

When officers showed her a Glock 22 service pistol for comparison, she said the gun she had seen was similar.

The manager described her assailant as a black man, about 21 years old, 5-feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds, with dark brown skin and a deep voice. Her co-worker described the other two robbers as being of substantially the same description.

They said the car was a gold Chrysler sedan, 2000 to 2005 make, possibly a Concorde, with dark-tinted rear windows and rounded taillights. Neither woman was able to get the license number of the car.
