Tosa Man Reports Being Threatened with Gun on Mayfair Road

He says he was cut off in traffic, taunted, threatened and then chased. But he knew where to go.

A Wauwatosa man was on the receiving end of a decidedly one-sided incident of road rage Friday night when, he said, another driver cut him off in traffic and then slowed to let his passengers curse and taunt him before one drew a gun on him.

At 11:50 p.m., the Tosa man reported to police that he had been driving north in the center lane of the 500 block of North Mayfair Drive when a maroon SUV pulled out of the parking lot and directly in front of him, forcing him to swerve sharply into the right lane.

He said the SUV slowed, and as he passed, three men inside rolled down their windows and began yelling and swearing at him.

Then, he told police, one of them then pointed a black handgun at him and shouted, β€œWhat are you going to do now?”

The victim was frightened but he made a cool-headed decision. He told police he sped up and drove directly to the at 10190 Watertown Plank Road.

He told officers the SUV followed him closely until he turned in to the sheriff’s station, then sped away east on Watertown Plank. He was not able to get a license number or give a description of the men.

In at least two recent incidents of garage and car entries, neighbors saw what they described as a maroon SUV leaving the area in a hurry, but again, none was able to get a license number, a description of the occupants or even a make or model of the vehicle.
