Tosa Police Chief a Candidate for Same Post in Greendale

Chief Barry Weber is among six being considered this week for position in much smaller town.

Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber is one of six candidates who will be reviewed this week for the position of chief of police of Greendale, according to a member of the Greendale Police and Fire Commission.

In an e-mail Monday to Viviana Buzo, the editor of , Commissioner David Wilmoth named Weber among the candidates for the job. The others are:

  • Patrick M. Balistrieri, retired deputy chief, West Allis Police Department
  • Gregory A. Habeck, assistant chief, UW-Milwaukee Police Department and formerly assistant chief, Milwaukee Police Department
  • Robert Malasuk, interim chief, Greendale Police Department
  • Randolph Pruss, director of security, Southridge Mall; formerly captain, Greendale Police Department
  • Eric G. Schroeder, captain, Franklin Police Department

Weber could not immediately be reached for comment.

Greendale, with about 15,000 people, has about one-third the population of Wauwatosa.

Weber's wife is Karen Weber, for the Greendale School District at Highland View Elementary School.

Weber holds or has held memberships and/or positions with the International Association of Chiefs of Police, FBI National Academy Associates, Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, Milwaukee County Law Enforcement Executives Association, Wisconsin Police Executive Group, Wauwatosa Rotary Club.

He also has been a faculty member at Upper Iowa University and Concordia University.
