At 10:10 p.m. June 27, a Wauwatosa police officer was monitoring traffic in the 8100 block of Blue Mound Road when he spotted Kanngiesser doing 45 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour speed zone. The officer pulled Kanngiesser over and immediately smelled fresh marijuana coming from inside the car.

Kanngiesser said the smell must be coming from his clothes because he “hangs out” with people who smoke marijuana. The officer then searched Kanngiesser and found rolling papers in his pocket. Kanngiesser then admitted there was a small amount of marijuana in a book bag in the car.
