Two Charged in Tosa Teen's Death Plead Not Guilty

No trial date set yet for two men facing reckless homicide charges after they sold heroin to a 19-year-old girl who later overdosed and died in a Wauwatosa home.

A Waukesha man and Milwaukee man facing homicide charges under the state’s “Len Bias Law” for the drug overdose death of a Wauwatosa teen have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Daniel Lee Birtic, 23, and Edwin Esteves, 33, were arraigned on one count of first-degree reckless homicide by delivery of drugs Thursday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

The men are facing the charges after Alexandra Michelle Hopping, 19, was found dead inside a home in the 1800 block of North 70th Street.
