WISN: Carjack Victim Moving Out of Wauwatosa

Wife of victim says the couple used to feel safe in their East Tosa neighborhood, but "not anymore."

A man who was a victim of carjacking in his own driveway last week has decided to move out of Wauwatosa, his wife told Patch's media partners at WISN12 News.

The victim was attacked his driveway in the 2200 block of North 69th Street by two strangers who asked to use his phone to call for a ride. When he refused, they attacked and punched him, ripped his keys out of his pocket and drove off with his wife's car.

The victim's wife, Shari Rather, told WISN 12 News that the couple moved to Wauwatosa from Pewaukee one year ago because they wanted to be closer to Milwaukee. They thought they had found a quiet neighborhood. Now, she said, they are planning to move out of Tosa.

"You feel pretty safe and secure. Not anymore," she said.
