Americans For Prosperity Bus Tour to Stop in Hudson on June 1

Americans For Prosperity's statewide bus tour will stop for an event at Lakefront Park in Hudson on June 1. AFP President Tim Phillips and conservative radio personality Tony Katz will speak at the event.

A 10-city Wisconsin bus tour put on by Americans For Prosperity (AFP) will stop for a 9 a.m. event at in Hudson on Friday, June 1, according to Luke Hilgemann, AFP's state director for Wisconsin.

AFP President Tim Phillips and conservative radio personality Tony Katz will speak at the event, Hilgemann said. Also, activists can participate in phone banking and other activities to help educate their friends and neighbors, according to an event press release.

"They'll be talking about the importance of the budget reforms and why Wisconsin taxpayers and citizens can't afford to move backward away from those reforms to the day of old where we had huge budget deficits and bloated government," Hilgemann said.

Although the statewide bus tour take place just days before the , Hilgemann says the event is not meant to be connected to Gov. Scott Walker's campaign against .

"We're not dealing with any candidates, political parties or ongoing races," Hilgemann said. "We're just educating folks on the importance of the reforms."

AFP has been a lightning rod for controvery in Hudson over the past 14 months. In March 2011, the group had a Stand With Walker bus tour across the state and as the group held an event inside the Hudson Grand Hotel. In August, against AFP because of a questionable mailing.

I was pointing out that they have been involved with controversy here. I didn't say there were guilty of anything.

Anything/anyone supporting the GOP usually has some controversy with the left, it's how the Dems roll. Law suit crazy loons! Vote for WALKER if you want WI to do well. A vote for Barrett will put us in hell!
