The Democratic candidates for State Assembly seats shared between Wauwatosa and Brookfield have long been declared, but they've laid back, husbanding resources for their races until after the Republican primary.
Now that that's over, they're ready for launch, and they're planning on pooling resources.
Democratic candidates (District 13) and (District 14), both Wauwatosa residents, will hold a joint general election campaign kickoff and fundraiser from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at , 6030 W. North Ave., in Wauwatosa.
The campaign committees request that contributions be split between the two candidates.
District 13, after redistricting last year, represents roughly the southern halves of Wauwatosa and Brookfield, plus all of Elm Grove and a bit of West Allis. District 14 represents most of the northern halves of Wauwatosa and Brookfield and piece of Milwaukee.
Pokrandt will face Rob Hutton, a Brookfield businessman and former Waukesha County supervisor .
Rockwood will square off against Republican incumbent Dale Kooyenga of Brookfield.
Hosts and sponsors for the joint kickoff include State Rep. Sandy Pasch; State Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa; State Sen. Chris Larson; former State Sen. Gary Goyke; and future state representatives Evan Goyke (District 18), Mandela Barnes (District 11), and Danny Riemer (District 7), all of whom won their recent primary election campaigns.
