Election Preview: Wisconsin 12th State Assembly District
Incumbent Fred Kessler is running unopposed in the Nov. 6 election.
Democrat Fred Kessler, who was first elected to the State Assembly in 1960, is running unopposed in the 12th District.
For a time, Kessler left the Assembly, serving as a Milwaukee County Circuit judge. In 2004, he was elected again to serve in the state Assembly.
The 12th District has new boundaries this year in the wake of redistricting prompted by population shifts in the 2010 census. The 12th District now encompasses portions of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa.

Assembly members serve two-year terms and earn $49,943 annually. The also receive a per diem of $88 per day for each day they work in Madison.
