Watertown Plank Road Closing Thursday; Blue Mound Reopened

You will still be able to reach Mayfair Road on Watertown Plank from the east, but not from the west. See the DOT's recommended detours or plan your own.

Motorists who have avoided the closure of Blue Mound Road at Mayfair Road by taking Watertown Plank Road will want to reverse the procedure Thursday.

Blue Mound is now open across Mayfair, but Watertown Plank will close Thursday through Aug. 10 for construction related to the Zoo Interchange Project.

Watertown Plank will be completely closed to traffic only on the west side of Mayfair (Hwy. 100). Travelers coming from the east will still be able to turn north or south onto Mayfair; likewise, motorists on Mayfair, from north or south, will still be able to go east on Watertown Plank.

Those coming from the west on Watertown Plank, however, will not be able to reach Mayfair. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the road is technically closed west to 113th Street for through traffic, but there will be access to any businesses, residences and institutions along the stretch.
