Wauwatosa Had $500,000 Surplus

The experienced a surplus due to larger pension contributions and unspent salary funds.

Wauwatosa had a surplus of $516,438 in 2012, reported Wauwatosa Now.

Pay increases that were offset by pension contribution resulted in the $500,000 savings.

Wauwatosa also saved $793,000 in unspent salary funds. The high number of retirements also contributed to the unspent salary funds.

The City of Wauwatosa experienced a $400,000 surplus in 2011.
