Wauwatosa Plans to Improve Signage to Attract Visitors

There are plans to hire a consultant to help improve Wauwatosa's signage.

The Village of Wauwatosa is looking into improving its signage to better direct visitors to local businesses, reported Wauwatosa Now.

Jim Plaisted, executive director of the Village Business Improvement District, said they plan to improve signs that are on existing poles and add new pole structures.

The village also plans to hire a consultant for the project.

Plaisted told Wauwatosa Patch in November that those who know the village can easily find the shops, boutiques and restaurants but in order to draw people from the metropolitan area, better street signage and easy-to-find parking are needed.

“Our commercial district has great bones, but there are challenges,” Plaisted said.
