Week Ahead: Curb Pickup Doesn't Change This Year

Also, Mayor Didier's swan song is Tuesday night, as she takes new county job.

First, a reminder that with Christmas falling on Sunday, trash and recycling pickup will not change this week from the usual schedule.

Director Bill Porter asked for and received enough volunteers from the city's refuse collection team to work on their holidays this year (at time-and-a-half) so that normal pickups will not be interrupted. In past years, many citizens were thrown by year-end schedule changes that left trash piling up on curbs or being put out too late.

Recycling pickup, which is contracted through Waste Management Inc., will also stay on the usual schedule.
