When Will The Trains Stop Sounding in Wauwatosa?

City of Wauwatosa will be restored to its standing as a train horn-free zone in only a few days.

Wauwatosa will officially be restored to its quiet zone status on Oct. 8, according to the city's website.

The city announced in late September that it had restored the quiet zone designation with the Federal Railroad Administration and that the designation would be enacted within 21 days.

The City of Wauwatosa lost its quiet-zone status by the Federal Railroad Administration earlier this summer. The city has been working to update the crossings at 63rd Street and 115th Street in order to re-instate its application, according to the city's website.

The city has to prove that it meets federal requirements in order to have its quiet zone re-established.
