All-City Choral Festival Showcases Thousands of Student Singers

Choirs from all schools, totaling some 3,700 students, will gather for concert Tuesday night at East High.

The district’s biannual All-City Choral Festival will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the gym at , 7500 Milwaukee Ave.

This is a collaborative student performance organized by the vocal music teachers of East and , and middle schools, as well as Eisenhower, , , , , , , , Wauwatosa-STEM and elementary schools.

Highlights from the program will include an Israeli folksong, “Zum Gali Gali;” a Beatles classic, “Here Comes the Sun;” “Africa” by Paich/Porcaro; and a spiritual, “Wade In the Water.”

The festival, which is free and open to the public, will feature performances from all students in the elementary, middle and high school choirs.

The Wauwatosa School District vocal music program involves 3,700 students. Vocal and general music education begins in senior kindergarten and continues through the 12th grade.
