Sleep Better, and Help Out Tosa East's Dancers

Mattress sale Saturday can put you in a better mood in the morning and send talented kids on the trip of a lifetime.

You spend roughly a third of your life sleeping, right? And the other two-thirds depends somewhat on how well you slept.

If you haven't replaced that old, tired mattress in too long – if you toss and turn and think, "I really ought to get rid of this and get something better" – you have your chance Saturday, at a knock-down price and with the opportunity to help some Tosa kids as well.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, the Wauwatosa East Dance Team is hosting a one-of-a-kind fundraising event – a discount mattress sale.

It's the second annual mattress madness event for the dancers, and last year it raised $2,500 to send the team to Disney World after the girls qualified for a national dance competition.

They'd like to raise even more this year for another trip.

The mattress sale will be in the gym at East High School. There will be 18-20 mattress sets on display. You can even try out (jammies not necessary but not expressly prohibited) and a team of experts will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.

"The savings are from 30 percent to 60 percent off," said John Geitmann of Custom Fundraising Solutions, "and 60 percent or more of the sales go to the girls.

"These are name-brand products, brand new, not seconds, similar or better than you'd find in a furniture store but at half the price."

"All we ask is you just come in and take a look," said East dance coach Holly Kopp.
