Getting yard, home ready for winter focus of free educational programs

Learn how to put your garden to bed for the season, organize your home and save on this winter’s heating bills at 7 p.m. on Thursdays during October at Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church, 1529 Wauwatosa Ave.

These autumn home preparation topics are the next three programs in the free WAUMC Fellowship Hall Showcase community education series.

On Oct 13, master gardener Carolyn Dressler will share important information about “Putting Your Garden to Bed.” Dressler, Wauwatosa Distinguished Citizen for 2010, is a local authority on gardens and long-time volunteer with the University of Wisconsin Extension’s Southeast Wisconsin Master Gardeners.
